Staying at the Palais Hansen Kempinski Vienna

I really need to tell you about my stay in Vienna. More precisely, where I stayed.

Kempinski does not need any introduction, it is a name everyone associates with 5 star luxury, comfort and design worldwide. I was delighted when I was offered to stay at the beautiful Palais Hansen Kempinski in the heart of Vienna. More so, as it was in one of their luxurious suites. Charming, classic, unique and full of Viennese charm.
I received very warm welcome, staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating. I found a personal note in my room welcoming me, delicious cakes and a stress ball (how did they know I needed one?) Great little souvenir to take home which will most certainly be handy at work.
Quickly dropping bags off in my room, I headed to their lobby for an Afternoon tea.

Bright place buzzing with business people, families, guests from every corner of the world chattering over a cup of tea and cake, or quite a few actually. I ordered the Sonnenwiese tea, blend of blackberry leaves, verbena leaves, lemongrass, delphinium and sunflower blossoms. It was SO incredibly tasty, I enjoyed it several more times during my stay. And naturally, the cake selection was fabulous too.
Cheeky glass of prosecco with elderflower and mint followed shortly afterwards, when the lights went down and DJ started to play great selection of music. Large group of guests from Middle East turned up in the lobby and the DJ immediately switched to Arabic music which I thought was a lovely gesture greatly appreciated by the guests.

I only had 3 hour sleep the previous night, so all I could think about was a hot bath, comfortable bed and good sleep.

I went up to bed to find it had been all turned down, fluffed up and made ready for me.
The bathroom was luxurious. I found the temperature controller on bath and shower bit hard to operate though, turning the temperature up or down was not as easy as turning a normal tap on. Once I mastered it, I soaked in for ages and ages.

I must have fallen asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. The bed was THE most comfortable one I have ever slept in. Seriously. No kidding. If only I could have one of those in my house.

'Dear Santa, I have been so good this year' ....

Waking up smiling was a fabulous result. I could not wait to head down to The Küche for breakfast.
The buffet was very impressive and so was the wide selection of just about anything that crosses your mind.

I love hotel break-feasts, because that is exactly what they are. And this was one hell of a feast.  I opted for scrambled eggs, toast, yoghurt followed by a bowl of fresh fruit. And litres of coffee, as I cannot possibly start a day without the recommended (over)dose of caffeine.

Fully satisfied I went to explore the hotel a bit more.

I found a lovely cocktail bar right next to the lobby.

There is a very cute little gift shop where you'll find unusual gifts, handcrafts, luxury leather goods and souvenirs.

And just look at their flower shop. Beautifully decorated, colourful, vibrant, absolute feast for the eyes, don't you think?

Kempinski you really did not disappoint. Grand interior, friendly and professional staff, extremely comfortable rooms (and beds!), delicious food, this hotel screams of warmth and luxury. I was very well looked after, thank you.

I unfortunately run out of time to try their magnificent spa, so more reasons to visit again.

Thanks to Palais Hansen Kempinski Vienna for supporting me on my visit to Vienna. All photos and opinions are my own. To experience it for yourself, visit their website here
