Ksar Char-Bagh, Marrakech Palmeraie

This 14th-century-inspired riad with 21st-century minimalism and elegance certainly makes a powerful first impression.

An imposing tower with a huge door lures you into a magical Arabian fairytale.

The suites are located off the central courtyard.

Our suite was large, with a dressing room, bedroom, living room with a fireplace, large bathroom with a massive marble bathtub and a private rooftop terrace with a cabana bed overlooking the Atlas Mountains.

Waking up for sunrise was magical - surrounded by palm trees and the soundtrack of singing birds while the sun was rising above the nearby Atlas Mountains, you feel miles and miles away from the mayhem of Marrakech.

Fig, olive and citrus trees fill the air with fragrance while you cool down in the palm-lined pool from the day’s scorching heat. Dragonflies were everywhere!

We sat by the pool lit by lanterns and watched the sun go down and a full moon brightening the sky as we sipped on cocktails. A very romantic way to end the day.

The Riad is large but with only 14 suites, it offers its guests a great deal of privacy. You’ll find a billiard room, library, cigar room, spa with marble hammam, tennis court, restaurant, pool, gym, and immaculate gardens, there is so much on offer!

There is also a separate building for private functions, which makes it the perfect place for a wedding. I can see why one very famous British actor got married there.

Ksar lies in the Palmeraie, just a short drive from the magic and mayhem of the Marrakech Medina, but the main point is to stay put and blissfully immerse yourselves in the tranquillity of your surroundings.

What a beautiful hotel with the best staff to meet your every little need. A lovely and warm team made our stay very special. A massive thank you to the wonderful General Manager Kevin who looked after us wonderfully. They truly make their customers’ needs their priority.
