Day at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show

Welcome to one of the world's most prestigious flower and landscape event, the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

Only the best garden designers, landscapers and florist from around the world participate showcasing the best in garden design at this incredible show which has taken places every year for over 100 years.

Let me take you through some of the most striking gardens, and show you the winners.

The Zoe Ball Listening Garden, where the water dances to the beat of music.

Silk Road Garden. The red blades represent the hilly landscape of the Sichuan Province in China.

The Jo Whiley Scent Garden, which fragrance designer Jo Malone helped to create, drawing attention to our sensory response to smell and the power it has on our mood. ‘It is a place where visitors are encouraged to reconnect with their emotions and the world around them. In the space of a few steps in a garden, the visitor can be immersed in their own thoughts or simply breathe deeply in the fresh air.’

I loved The Breast Cancer Now Garden: Through the Microscope - the garden that ‘highlights the work of the charity’s scientists and their goal to stop breast cancer taking more lives. The garden shows a future where all cells viewed through a microscope are healthy. Jagged rocks at the front of the garden depict breast cancer. The three vertical circles represent microscope lenses aligned to focus on a black microscope slide at the back of the garden and a circle of magnified healthy cells’.

Very powerful, as cancer touches all of us. We all know someone who has been affected by cancer.

The Gold Medal Winner was a garden designed by James Basson, featuring blocks of limestone planted with grasses, evergreens, perennials and ground cover unique to the arid Mediterranean island. 'The message behind the designer’s creation is that humans need to take action to preserve the fragile environment of our planet. Sustainable water disposal, recycling and composting: all are vital if Malta is to save its distinct and delicate landscapes.’

One of the Silver Medal Winner was Yorkshire Garden, designed by Tracy Foster. A beautiful seaside scene representing Yorkshire landscape full of wild woodlands, striking shorelines, chalk cliffs and historical buildings.

We were blown away by the beautiful sculptures incorporated so perfectly into the gardens. My favourite was the bronze fountain showing two children playing outside capturing natural moments of childhood.

Pinks, purples, yellows, blues, I got sucked into a surreal land of flowers.

It was time to stop and smell the roses.

Nothing beats a warm sunny day with Pimm's and ice cream!

Blooming marvellous place to gather great ideas and get inspired. Amazing event, one I will surely be attending next year again.
