Emelisse Hotel in Fiskardo, Kefalonia

After a few very cultural and fun days in Athens, it was time to fly to Kefalonia, the largest island in the Ionian Sea for my best friend’s wedding.

There was some me-time to be had first. One flight and a taxi ride later, I arrived in Fiscardo, a picturesque harbor village on the Northern tip of Kefalonia. An island of rugged mountains, towering cliffs, and golden beaches.

Let me introduce you to the Emelisse Hotel.

A stunning hotel, filled with elegance and luxury, natural materials and earthy tones, set in green luscious grounds along the rocky shoreline of the Ionian Sea, designed to make you feel right at home.
The hotel consists of the main building and several separate apartments, maisonettes, and suites, linked by paths of lavender and olive trees.

My stylish Double Deluxe garden room was pretty spacious and chic, with patio balcony with sea view, idyllic place to kick back and relax which I took full advantage of.
Being set high above the port of Fiskardo, swimming in the infinity pool with mountain view plunging into the glowing sea and panoramic views of the neighboring islands of Ithaca and Lefkada was pretty spectacular.
Especially at sunset.
And sunrise.
A setting like no other, for a breakfast like no other.
Emelisse offers something for everybody: they have 2 restaurants and bars, 3 swimming pools, tennis and squash court, pool table, gym, free bicycles, outdoor cinema, and Elemis spa. With several outdoor activities to take on such as hiking, caving, horse riding or scuba diving, or self-drive boat rental, you can never get bored staying here.

The hotel grounds are very extensive with numerous areas with sofas and daybeds, so it never feels crowded. The atmosphere is very laid back and peaceful.
A blissfully tranquil waterside setting where you can relax or swim in crystal clear water.
Emblisi beach is only a short walk away, beautifully secluded, with not many people around. Your own private beach.
Short 10-minute walk (or you can take a courtesy golf cart transfer that runs hourly) is Fiskardo, often described as Greece's prettiest village and Kefalonia’s most glamorous spot.

Which is true.
I was totally enchanted by the traditional houses and colorful fishing boats, luxury yachts in the harbor with no shortage of restaurants to chose from and great views of the neighboring island of Ithaca.
Grab a table on the shore and have a good old Greek feast. I ate gazing out to sea and sipped on ‘Freddo cappuccino sketo' while admiring the pretty pastel houses and boats.
Back at the hotel, at night, the whole hotel grounds transformed into a candlelit fairytale. The main restaurant located at the tip of the bay offers yet again incredible views. Greek evening with a live band playing traditional Greek music hosted by the hotel really created a magical atmosphere. The food was excellent and of high quality.

5 reasons to stay at Emelisse:
○  A great haven of peace and tranquillity
○  The breath-taking view of the Ionian Sea and neighboring islands
○  Impeccable customer service
○  Exceptional dining experience
○  Idyllic location, next to Emblisi beach and magical Fiskardo

If you ever decide to visit Kefalonia and stay in Fiskardo, which you absolutely should, you know where to lodge. An unforgettable stay, thank you Emelisse Hotel for your flawless hospitality. I will come back.

Emelisse Hotel has come a long way!
It is all because this family-run paradise was considered a labour-of-love by its owners from the very first moment of its existence!
It is highly recommended!
